<p>Are you the Linux Devops engineer ready to take on the Eurozone ?</p>Role description<p>As a System &amp; Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, operating, and evolving production-grade infrastructure. You will contribute directly to the reliability and performance of critical services, including authoritative DNS and domain registration systems.</p>Key responsibilitiesInfrastructure and platforms<ul><li>Design, implement, and maintain highly available Linux-based infrastructures in datacentres</li><li>Manage and evolve virtualization and containerisation platforms (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes), and contribute to private cloud environments</li><li>Contribute to the design and evolution of infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, resilience, and lifecycle management</li></ul>DNS and registry services<ul><li>Operate and maintain large-scale authoritative DNS infrastructure</li><li>Operate and maintain registry services in production, and manage deployments across environments</li><li>Support domain registration services and associated backend systems (Java, Python, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ)</li><li>Ensure high availability, performance, and security of core registry services</li></ul>Automation and observability<ul><li>Develop automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Ansible or Terraform</li><li>Contribute to CI/CD practices and operational efficiency</li><li>Monitor systems and services in production, ensuring early detection of incidents and performance issues</li><li>Implement and maintain observability stacks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Graylog)</li></ul>Database platform operations<ul><li>Operate PostgreSQL infrastructure (replication, backups, monitoring, system-level performance)</li><li>Collaborate with specialised external DBA providers for advanced database optimisation and tuning</li></ul>Networking and security<ul><li>Contribute to network infrastructure operations, including routing, firewalls, and traffic flows</li><li>Support distributed systems and DNS-related network behaviour (including anycast environments)</li><li>Work with enterprise architecture and security teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with regulatory and security requirements</li></ul>Collaboration and operations<ul><li>Work closely with development and security teams to ensure service reliability</li><li>Participate in on-call rotation to support 24/7 service availability</li><li>Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of systems and processes</li><li>Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry practices</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p> Your profileEducation and experience<ul><li>Degree in computer science, IT, or a related field</li><li>5+ years of experience in system or infrastructure engineering roles, with strong hands-on experience in production environments</li></ul>Technical skills<ul><li>Strong foundation in Linux (RHEL derivatives such as AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux</li><li>Experience with virtualization and containerisation technologies (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes), and exposure to private cloud platforms (e.g. OpenStack-based solutions)</li><li>Experience with automation and IaC tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Rundeck</li><li>Solid scripting and programming skills (e.g. Python, Bash), with the ability to develop automation and understand application code</li><li>Experience operating DBMS (such as PostgreSQL) infrastructure (replication, backups, monitoring), in collaboration with DBA services</li><li>Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing concepts, BGP basics), knowledge of networking and security technologies (e.g. Juniper, Palo Alto) is a plus</li><li>Good understanding of DNS, including authoritative DNS and DNSSEC principles</li><li>Experience with identity and access management solutions</li><li>Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Graylog)</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD and collaboration tools such as Atlassian (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence), GitLab, and Nexus</li><li>Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions such as Commvault is a plus</li></ul>Soft skills<ul><li>Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex environments</li><li>Strong sense of ownership and accountability</li><li>Service-oriented and pragmatic mindset</li><li>Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across teams and share knowledge</li><li>Curious, proactive, and eager to learn and improve</li><li>Structured and diligent, with attention to documentation and quality</li><li>Good communication skills in English</li></ul>
