Team Lead Backend Development

We are looking for a Team Lead Development (Backend) who can help build strong, future-proof teams with a focus on both people and technology. In this role, you will lead backend developers and be responsible for their growth, performance, and wellbeing.<br>You will work closely with the News Area Manager and the Team Lead Development for Mobile, Web &amp; QA. Together, you will help shape a strong technical organization where collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement are at the core.</span></p><p><strong><span style="color:#595d6f">What will you do?<br></span></strong><span style="color:#595d6f">As Team Lead Development (Backend), you will be responsible for the people side of the backend domain while also contributing actively to technical discussions and decision-making on both a tactical and strategic level. You will:</span></p><ul><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Coach and support backend developers in their professional and personal development;</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Conduct development and performance conversations and support career planning;</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Ensure the long-term employability and growth of your team, both individually and collectively;</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Collaborate with the Area Manager and the other Team Lead Development to maintain a strong and balanced team structure;</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Contribute actively to technical discussions and decision-making on topics such as architecture, scalability, and technical direction;</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Take the lead in recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of backend developers (both permanent and freelance);</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Identify and address performance and team dynamics challenges;</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams (backend, mobile, and web);</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color:#595d6f">Contribute to a culture of ownership, feedback, and continuous improvement.</span></p></li></ul><p><strong><span style="color:#595d6f">What do you bring?<br></span></strong><span style="color:#595d6f">We are looking for a Team Lead who provides direction, builds strong relationships, and creates impact.
