We are looking to fill this position immediately.</p> <p><strong>Position Description</strong></p> <p>Fire Protection Engineers at Oklo are responsible for the design and development of the fire protection systems in Oklo's power plants.</p> <p><strong>Specific responsibilities may include:</strong></p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-indent-level="1"> <li>Establish fire protection requirements that inform plant design</li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="428">Develop Fire Hazard Analyses, Fire Protection Program, First Safe Shutdown Analyses, and other licensing and design documentation</p> </li> <li>Define equipment architecture, specifications, operational modes, and performance criteria</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Lead the design of fire protection equipment</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Perform commissioning and testing of fire protection systems</li> </ul> <ul class="ak-ul" data-indent-level="1"> <li>Manage projects with third party fire protection consultants</li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1231">Document work using modern tools and techniques, and compose well-written, thoughtful technical reports</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2299">Engineering education, potentially Fire Protection, Nuclear, Chemical, or Mechanical</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2394">Experience performing design of fire protection systems&nbsp;in the nuclear, petroleum, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="2597">Broad familiarity with engineering principles, and having strong systems engineering and operations intuition</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Competencies</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer that is:</p> <ul class="ak-ul" data-indent-level="1"> <li>Knowledgable in nuclear facility fire protection design and operations under an NRC or DOE license</li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="950">Experienced with NFPA 804 or NFPA 850</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="950">Experience with IBC or IFC standards</p> </li> <li> <p data-renderer-start-pos="1020">Passionate about making advanced fission a reality</p> </li> <li> <p data-rend
