Unilabs invests heavily in technology, equipment, and people – using digital technologies in its state-of-the-art laboratories and imaging institutes – to improve the lives of close to 100 million people every year.</p><p></p><p><strong>Role Purpose </strong></p><p>We are looking for an experienced and driven Group Accounting & Reporting Leader to shape and elevate our international finance function, combining deep IFRS expertise with strategic vision and a passion for transformation. <br /><br />In this role, you will partner closely with senior leadership, lead a high-performing team in Porto, and drive excellence across Group reporting, consolidation, governance, audit, and complex accounting matters. You will play a key role in standardizing and centralizing processes, advancing automation and digitalization initiatives, supporting acquisitions and integrations, and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance. <br /><br />This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is motivated by the chance to build, influence, and create lasting impact on a global scale.<br /><u><strong><br /><br />Key Responsibilities</strong></u></p><p>Group Accounting & Reporting Leadership</p><p>· Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation process in compliance with IFRS</p><p>· Ensure quality, completeness and integrity of financial data across all entities</p><p>· Review and challenge local submissions and closing packages</p><p>· Oversee preparation of IFRS financial statements and disclosures</p><p>Accounting Policies & Technical Expertise</p><p>· Own the Group accounting policies and reporting manual</p><p>· Act as single point of contact for complex technical accounting matters</p><p>· Manage IFRS updates, interpretation and implementation</p><p>· Assess accounting treatment of complex transactions (M&A, restructuring, financing, etc.)</p><p>SSC Porto Leadership & Process Ownership</p><p>· Lead and develop the Group Accounting & Reporting team based in Porto</p><p>· Drive standardization and centralization of accounting processes of Unilabs markets into the SSC</p><p>· Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with Group policies</p><p>· Implement and monitor KPIs and service quality metrics</p><p>Transformation & Systems</p><p>· Drive continuous improvement of the finance operating model</p><p>· Lead initiatives related to ERP (D365), consolidation tools (Tagetik) and automation</p><p>· Improve reporting timelines, data quality and process efficiency</p><p>· Support the digitalization of accounting processes</p><p>Audit & Governance</p><p>· Lead the Group external audit process and act as main point of contact for auditors</p><p>· Ensure readiness and quality of supporting documentation</p><p>· Audit & Risk Committee and Board reporting and presentation</p><p>· Strengthen internal control environment and compliance framework</p><p>Projects & M&A Integration</p><p>· Lead accounting aspects of acquisitions, integrations and reorganizations</p><p>· Support due diligence and post-acquisition accounting alignment</p><p>· Ensure proper implementation of Group standards for new entities</p><p>General Responsibilities</p><p>· Lead and develop a high-performing international team</p><p>· Foster a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement</p><p>· Coordinate cross-functional finance processes across geographies</p><p>· Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal requirements</p><p> </p><p><u><strong>Profile – Personal Characteristics</strong></u></p><p>· Strong leadership and ability to influence senior stakeholders</p><p>· High level of integrity, rigor and accountability</p><p>· Hands-on, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset</p><p>· Ability to operate in a fast-paced, transforming environment</p><p>· Strong communication and interpersonal skills</p><p> </p><p><u><strong>Experience & Qualifications</strong></u></p><p>· Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration</p><p>· Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred</p><p>· Minimum 10–12 years of experience, including:</p><p>o Significant experience in IFRS reporting and consolidation</p><p>o Experience in multinational and/or SSC environments</p><p>o Background in Big 4 audit strongly preferred</p><p>· Proven experience in team management and leadership</p><p>· Demonstrated exposure to complex projects (M&A, transformation, systems)</p><p> </p><p><u><strong>Technical Skills</strong></u></p><p>· Deep knowledge of IFRS and Group reporting requirements</p><p>· Strong understanding of internal controls and financial processes</p><p>· Experience with ERP systems (D365 preferred) and consolidation tools (Tagetik highly valued)</p><p>· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</p><p> </p><p><u><strong>Language Skills</strong></u></p><p>English: Fluent (mandatory)</p><p> </p><p><u><strong>What a successful candidate looks like</strong></u></p><p>· A trusted partner to the CFO and senior leadership</p><p>· A leader capable of building and scaling a best-in-class finance function in Porto</p><p>· A technical expert who can translate complex accounting into clear decisions</p><p>· A driver of transformation, automation and continuous improvement</p>
