General Accountant

<p><strong>ANINE BING</strong> is looking for a <strong>General Accountan</strong>t to join our Finance team based in Paris.</p> <p>This role is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of ANINE BING. As a key contributor within our Paris HQ team, the General Accountant brings rigor, ownership and hands-on execution to their work — supporting our global growth while staying grounded in the brand's DNA: refined, fast-moving, and always evolving.</p> <p>We're looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a creative yet performance-driven environment. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a structured, autonomous approach to the close cycle and is energized by working in an international, multi-entity environment.</p> <p>Reporting to the AP & General Accounting Manager, the General Accountant plays a central role in the production of accurate, timely accounts across our directly-managed entities — France, the UK, the US and other EU markets.</p> <p>This is a hybrid position based at our Paris HQ, with one remote day per week (Wednesday or Friday). The role reports to the AP & General Accounting Manager.</p> <h2><strong>Responsibilities Include:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Own the monthly and annual close for assigned entities: journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments.</li> <li>Manage intercompany bookings and reconciliations across entities.</li> <li>Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for the close package and for statutory audits.</li> <li>Contribute to the preparation of VAT, DEB/DES and other regular tax filings, in coordination with the AP & General Accounting Manager.</li> <li>Support process and tooling improvements (ERP, automation, expense management) to scale the close cycle.</li> <li>Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Retail, HQ) to ensure accurate booking of business transactions.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Requirements:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>3-6 years of experience in general accounting, ideally in a multi-entity or international environment.</li> <li>Strong technical command of French GAAP; exposure to US GAAP or IFRS is a plus.</li> <li>Solid hands-on expertise on the full close cycle: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany.</li> <li>Comfortable working with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Sage) and Excel / Google Sheets.</li> <li>Rigorous, organized and able to manage multiple deadlines autonomously.</li> <li>Fluent English required; French is a strong asset.</li> <li>Experience in retail, fashion, e-commerce or consumer goods is a plus.</li> </ul>
