About the role
<p>An <strong>Export Control Manager</strong> is responsible for ensuring compliance with export regulations and laws. They oversee the export of goods and technology, assess potential risks, and develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with export control regulations. They also provide training to employees on export compliance and work closely with government agencies to obtain necessary licenses and permits for exporting goods. Additionally, they may conduct audits and investigations to ensure adherence to export control laws.</p> <p><strong><u>Essential Functions </u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Create, implement, and maintain the company's internal export compliance program (ECP), including written policies and procedures to ensure adherence to all U.S. export control laws.</li> <li>Work with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to accurately determine the export control jurisdiction (USML or CCL) and classification (USML Category/ECCN) of products, technical data, and services.</li> <li>Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLAs), and other authorizations with the U.S. Department of State's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) and the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).</li> <li>Conduct thorough screening of all foreign customers, vendors, and end-users to ensure compliance with restricted party lists and monitor the final end-use of all exported items.</li> <li>Develop and deliver regular, role-specific training to employees (including engineering, sales, and logistics teams) on export control regulations, policies, and the handling of controlled technical data and materials.</li> <li>Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps, implement corrective actions, and maintain accurate and complete records of all export-related activities, licenses, and documentation for the required five-year retention period.</li> <li>Implement and manage strict access controls and Technology Control Plans (TCPs) to prevent unauthorized access to ITAR-controlled data by foreign persons (including "deemed exports" within U.S. facilities).</li> <li>Investigate potential violations, coordinate with legal counsel, and submit voluntary disclosures or reports to relevant government agencies (DDTC, BIS) as required.</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.</li> <li>Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].</li> <li>Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company'
