UI Designer - Freelance

This is an opportunity to contribute to digital product experiences that reach millions of people, working within a collaborative and fast-moving team environment. This is a remote freelance role from June 15 through September 3, 2026.</p> <p> </p> <p>ROLE REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>4 to 6 years of experience, with an agency setting preferred</li> <li>Bring a strong UI sensibility and visual design craft to digital product work, with complementary UX capabilities that inform and elevate your output</li> <li>Implement a combination of strategic, conceptual, and design skills across a variety of deliverable types</li> <li>Create and manage original, visually compelling work that is both on-brand and purposeful</li> <li>Skilled in establishing and maintaining visual design systems, with experience creating and deploying tokenized components for scalable design</li> <li>Adept at utilizing AI tools to inform and streamline the design process, from research to prototyping</li> <li>Collaborate effectively with clients and various teams within AKQA, contributing to a culture of openness and continuous improvement</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</p> <ul> <li>A compelling portfolio of work with clear evidence of strong UI craft across digital products and services</li> <li>A drive to break boundaries and craft the best ideas of their kind</li> <li>Fearlessly and boundlessly creative, relentlessly attentive to detail</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of Figma, including working with design systems, setting up variables and libraries</li> <li>Strong proficiency with leading industry-standard UX design and prototyping tool</li> <li>Motion design skills
