R&D Manager Senior

<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><p>As R&amp;D Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the technology vision of IDtech and leading a team of engineers in the development of advanced software and embedded solutions. You will balance hands-on technical leadership with strategic direction, ensuring our products are robust, scalable, and future-proof.<br>You will:<br>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Define and drive the R&amp;D roadmap in collaboration with Product Management and Leadership.<br>Lead a team of developers and engineers, mentoring them in modern software practices.<br>Translate complex business requirements into clear architectural designs based on domain driven design (DDD) principles.</li><li>Guide the adoption of microservices architectures and API-first development across the product portfolio.<br>Ensure efficient containerized deployments and robust DevOps pipelines (CI/CD, Kubernetes, monitoring, automation).</li><li>Oversee the integration of embedded systems and IoT technologies with cloud services.</li><li>Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.</li></ul> <p><strong>Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong></p><p>We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with leadership skills:<br>Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.<br>Proven experience in cloud-native software development.<br>Deep knowledge of DDD, microservices, and API-first principles.<br>Hands-on background with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.<br>Experience with embedded development and IoT ecosystems.<br>Strong people management skills: ability to coach, inspire, and grow a multidisciplinary team.<br>Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong focus on delivering business value.<br><strong>Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch and/or French are a plus).</strong><br>&nbsp;</p>
